Over A Decade Of Cavaletti
Initially, I started offering Cavaletti clinics to give my students' horses a specific joint, mental and strengthening workout. Cavaletti is a perfect supplement for arena work and is great for building the top line, strength and coordination. Before I knew it jumpers and eventers at the barn I was teaching at started inquiring about signing up. And, they too, were accomplishing great results.
I was discovering that in these clinics we could create happiness, fun and connection not only for riders but for horses as well. The safe, carefully considered, friendly environment of Cavaletti clinics create a space where riders and horses enjoy the workout and have fun. We start with three poles and always end on a good note. We might end up with 20 poles, but we always end on what your horse is proud of.
Riding in a group is another beautiful way to have a fun ride with friends, which is not always achievable. Even in a group, we customize everything for the individual riders and horses. So while your friends might advance to more poles than you and your horse achieve that day, you and your horse will still have great accomplishments. There is no wrong way…

Cavaletti Clinic What To Expect
Erika's 45 minutes of instruction delivers results that other training doesn't accomplish in years.
You begin with four cavaletti and as you develop a tempo and rhythm with your horse, Erika uses a combination of humor and determination to help you relax and learn, adding up to 25 cavalettis.
Small groups with no more than four riders in a session give every participant a lot of personalized instruction and attention.
Your horse will gain elasticity, respond better to half halts, learn to travel straighter, and develop strength and flexibility.
Cavaletti Clinic Participants Say…
“Erika is kind, cheerful, generous in her instruction, and wonderfully communicative. If it appears you are not understanding her instructions, she takes the time and energy to think of a different way to communicate the instruction until you understand.
I have heard, on and off, one particular instruction with various dressage instructors over the years to correct my position...each time I asked the instructor what it meant, and each time I heard “you just do it” (IMO, soften your elbows is not intuitive).
In about ten seconds, Erika explained what exactly that meant, and I was immediately able to understand, and begin to correct, a lifelong misunderstanding of a very basic and important tenant of dressage.
I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Just go! Take the lesson, attend the clinic, don’t stress about your level. She will happily meet you where you are.”
“Erika’s Cavalletti clinic is one of the best things I’ve found to do with my horse. Not only is it a right joint-friendly workout for my horse, but Erika gives me insightful tips on my riding in a very straightforward and unintimidating way. I have ridden a few horses in the clinic, including a retired eventing TB and a gaited Rocky Mountain horse, and as different as those two horses are they both really liked it.

“I have a rescue horse who has some physical issues. I rode him in several of Erika’s cavaletti clinics. He became so much stronger and more confident and uses his body better. I have even begun jumping with him. Erika has a wonderful sense of both the horse and rider’s ability and tailors the clinic to your needs. I recommend this clinic to everyone.”
“My daughter and I really enjoyed the cavaletti clinic! Erika is professional, friendly and very keen on the horse’s abilities. We had a great time and looking forward to day two. Highly recommend :-)”
